Tony and Anton watched the girls this morning while I volunteered for Baby Daze (the humongous baby/children consignment sale at our church for my non-Kingwood readers). He took some cute pictures...
Matching baby Emma and big brother Anton. Anton started soccer season recently, which I don't think we have pictures of. Anna was pretty excited to go to the first game, but was disappointed that there wasn't a "marchin' band". We went last night and chased around a few of the loose balls with the ball boy.
Emma has yet to crawl on hands and knees, but she has been starting to pull up the past week or so. She's just gotten good at it and somewhat stable the past couple of days. She's actually barely starting to "cruise" also. I watched her pull up on her little activity table today and turned around a few minutes later and she was on a different side of it. She must be practicing while my back is turned so she can surprise me with yet another new skill. She is SO proud!!!
Here she is waving at all her fans and showing off her bottom teeth. She actually cut one of her top teeth this week and the other one is close behind.

Are you ready for one of the cutest things you've ever seen??? How about a baby tea party with the Vandenberge girls??? I'm so glad Tony took these since I was gone and missed the cute moment. Anna just loves her baby sister and as time goes by they just get sweeter and sweeter together.
Tony made some adjustments to Anna's bike today, and she helped him as usual. Anna LOVES to help Pappa fix things. Anyway, now she can happily and proficiently pedal and steer her little bike all by herself. I wouldn't be surprised if she loses the training wheels before she's 3 like her big brother.
Going back a couple of weeks... Anna's 9 month photos... her hair is long enough to put a bow in it pretty much just long enough for pictures. I am hoping to get busy with the bows and brushing quickly though and avoid the struggles I have running after Anna with a brush trying to get in a stroke or two. She's usually screaming something like "no brush Anna's hair, hurt me". I even bought the softest brush I could find. Oh well, maybe someday...

Anton drumming - notice the fuzzy hands, sticks and cymbals. He's gotten really good, and he's in a jazz group at school that had a really impressive performance at Christmas. They also got to play at a basketball game the other night that only Tony got to go to because all my babysitters were at a girls night at church (I did get to go to that for a while before the game just in case you're thinking I don't have an awesome husband - I just love our teenage girls AND my husband!). Hopefully they'll get to play again soon.
Anna sings a lot these days. Apparently they sing A LOT at her little school. Her 1st favorite song was "the wheels on the bus", but now she LOVES to sing the ABC song. A tie for second is Jesus love me, which always makes me smile, and twinkle twinkle little star (which she thinks is about the baby Jesus star). She was singing Away in a Manger a lot at Christmas too. By the way, her teachers Anne and Joan have become her first invisible friends (along with the occaisional Joanna, her best little toddler friend). You never know when Anne and Joan might be hanging out in Anna's little kitchen microwave or refridgerator, hiding in the closet or jumping up and down with a very energetic Anna. Joanna usually just shows up to have coffee or snacks in Anna's kitchen. Anyway, here she is singing during a walk...The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout.
Down came the rain
and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain, and the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again!
Emma eating a while back... by the way, Emma doesn't like baby food, and she certainly won't let anyone put a spoon in her mouth. It ends up all over the place and hardly any in her belly. I always think of one of my cousins telling me "there's just no clean way" when I tried to start feeding Anna baby food. Anyway, I pretty much gave up a few weeks ago and started more finger foods. She loves cheerios, blueberries, grapes, peas, and most recently, bread. I have started some fruit baby food again mixed with plain yogurt, which she eats eagerly as long as she's putting it in her own mouth. I've gotten her to eat it by putting food on a spoon and setting it down on her tray for her to pick up. I tried some veggie baby food just for kicks tonight but no dice. All I have to say is I'm glad I have a dog and I'm glad she is big enough to eat finger foods now.
