Old News

I know I'm a little slow getting stuff on the blog, but better late than never! Here are some fun pictures from one day last week when Joanna and Natalie came out to play. All the girls had lots of fun!
Emma took all her clothes off. It's been happening a lot lately. I even found her in her crib, asleep and all wet, with the bottom of her pj's and diaper removed the other night. For a while it seemed every time I turned around, she was in her birthday suite, putting her diaper in the trash. Luckily a wonderful friend shared a tip - tape the diaper. She gets duct tape on her diaper at night and most of the time during the day too. I still let her go to the potty when she tells me she needs to, about twice a day. We have a couple of summer trips coming up in the next six weeks, so I think I'll do the hard-core potty training after that.
Here are some cute dresses my mom got the girls. We took the pictures after church (several weeks ago), so they have lipstick Emma got into... and chocolate Anna got into.
Emma loves Junior!
Since Joanna's mama is pregnant, Anna has been fascinated with the thought of a baby growing inside a belly. She likes to put baby dolls under her shirt and say "Mama I'm pregnant!" She's also started putting on this veil - it's the veil my friends gave me at my bachelorette party. The other day she said "look Mama I'm pregnant, and I got married!". Later on she asked us, "if
I'm the Mama, who would be the Pappa". I told her she would have to get married to the boy, and the boy would be the Pappa. She just looked confused. It was pretty funny. :)
I actually put my hair in hot rollers a few weeks ago. It's got lots of uneven, frizzy waves in it after having babies, and it doesn't really look presentable if I don't blow dry it or put it up. Anyway, Anna wanted curlers in her hair too...
Little sister had to have a turn too!The next picture is fuzzy, but I thought it was so funny. Tony pulled a pretty large remote controlled Hummer out of a trash can somewhere. He did this thinking that there were probably some electronic parts Anton might like to take apart and tinker with. The girls love playing with though, so I don't know if he'll ever get to do that. Anna likes to put her little people in it. Here's Mary from the manger scene driving with the cow in the backseat. They also like to put their stuffed dogs in the back - because that's where dogs go!Happy Memorial Day!! I praise God for the sacrifices all our military families have made over the years to win and maintain our liberty.

All About Anton

Anton had a busy week last week with band stuff. He played in the orchestra concert last Monday, the band concert last Thursday and we went to the band banquet on Saturday. He got his letterman jacket at the banquet. I was very proud of him having more symbols by his name than anyone else in both the orchestra and band concert programs.

This is the band performing the Star Trek song, along with some strings from the orchestra and the choir singing "ah-ah-ahh". I never noticed how pretty it is. I put it on here for my favorite trekkie!!

Here's Anton at the banquet helping someone wrap.
He also got an award for most outstanding sophmore the band and one for percussion section leader. The band directors also gave him the "most likely to become President award". We sure hope he gets over his shyness someday!

Princesses & Pee on the Potty

A couple of Saturdays ago, we got to go celebrate our friend Abby's 3rd birthday. I brought my photographer (aka husband) along, so we actually have pictures of the wonderful event. We got to make princess crowns. I think Anna was trying to boss me and push me away. :)
Emma liked making a crown too.
All the princesses and princes getting lined up for a photo shoot.
I think this was about as good as it got.
Eating a yummy lunch!
The birthday princess and her daddy.Abby has her very own roller coaster. The kids were all over it!
The beautiful birthday princess with a runway look going!
Sweet mother daughter moments...
And some actions shots of some of our friends actually riding the roller coaster...

AnnaHappy Birthday Princess Abby! We love you!!
I think going to Abby's party has inspired Anna to want to play princess dress more often. This was last Saturday night I think.I think her princess name should be "Princess Goofy"!
Of course Emma wants to dress up like a "pin-cess" too.Princess sisters!
Then Emma took her diaper off and said she wanted to go pee on the potty, so I ran to get it. She went!! Of course big sister was offering lots of encouragment.
She was SO proud!! It was a very exciting moment for everyone! :)
She's gone a couple more times since then, but I don't think she's near ready to really potty train in earnest. She does like to take her diaper off. I usually go get her in the morning and find her legs out of her pj's and diaper off. I think I've figured out a way to adjust the zipper under the little snap so she can't unzip it. We'll see. I'm definitely not ready for real potty training right now - I manage to somehow get into some poison ivy about a week + ago, and it's really awful. Really really really awful. Covering about 50% of my body awful. For a week and I wake up with more every day. I'm a madwoman doing laudry trying to get rid of whatever is contaminated that I keep touching - including the dog. This too shall pass. At least everything else is going great and my family and God give me lots of joy as try to figure out how to end my suffering as quick as possible and not complain too much until it happens. :)
"Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?"
