Every day fun

There's not much exciting going on, just every day fun. Lots of it!! We're all happy the weather is warmer. The girls especially love to be outside when there's water involved. They still love the new water table. This is what they like to do in it. Anna had just stuck her head in the water. We decided this was too messy and not too safe, so they are sticking to splashing with their hands while standing next to it. Here's a typical evening playing with Pappa. Emma will say "Me ride Pappa back!" The pictures aren't very good, but you get the idea of how much fun it is!
Anna has been asking to get out the water fountain a lot lately, so I finally relented yesterday afternoon when it was pretty warm outside. Emma was very excited to put on a bathing suit.
We all wore sun glasses. I had them on my head at one point because I was reading in the shade. Emma copied me.
So I put mine back on my face, and I asked her to do it too. She had that finger back in the mouth before I could take a picture!
The run off from the fountain made a puddle full of mud on a low spot. I think they had more fun splashing in that than in the fountain!
Anton went on a fun band trip last weekend. We missed him a bunch, but we are glad he got to go. They stayed at a wonderful place called Mo Ranch near San Antonio. We weren't there to take pictures, but I was excited to get these from the band director. The pole he's on top of is about 15-20 feet high. I've tried it before... I barely made it to the top holding onto the belay and, after sort of standing there shaking for a few minutes, jumped right off like you would jump into a pool. Anton loves this stuff!

He's up.He's on top.
String bean in flight! Good catch Anton!!
In other news...

Emma finally sat on a potty for me. She wanted to wear her sisters underwear after changing her diaper the other day, so I told her she had to learn to use the potty. She has screamed when I've tried to put her on a big potty, the dora insert or the toddler potty. Don't worry, I didn't make her sit, I just tried to see if she would do it. Turns out she likes the little tiny $1.99 potty I got from Ikea 2 years ago. We'll she when she decides to actually do something on the potty. :)

Backyard Fun with Friends!

On Friday we had our playgroup friends over to continue the birthday celebration. It was so cute seeing the kiddos lined up on the fort picnic bench. All the kids enjoyed the playground fort!
Emma Ruth and Emma Grace... probably sharing some lunch.
Taking a break from the sun to play dress up.
We still have some little ones in the crowd with more on the way!
Thank goodness we have friends to help us finish off the birthday cake!

Emma loves to eat cake!
Aidan taught Anna how to throw a ball to your friend. Neither of them could actually get the ball in hitting range, but they sure had fun!
Anna discovered a teeny tiny scratch on her ankle. It needed prompt medical attention. Joanna was very concerned.
It was a good thing Joanna came to help put on the bandaid...
We love our bubble machine that Abby gave Anna last year for her birthday! Leah especially loved chasing the bubbles!
My mother got Emma a water table for her birthday. I didn't want a housefull of wet kids, so we waited untill after naps to fill it with water. It was a big hit!
They both ended up dumping buckets of water over their heads. Happy girls to make you smile!!!

"I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels." Isaiah 61:10

Keep reading if you haven't been here in a while, this is my 8th post since Wednesday!!!!

1st Camping Trip of 2010

was actually 2 weekends ago. I just downloaded my camera yesterday and realized there were lots of blog-worthy photos from the 2 weeks before Easter. I was just so busy camping and going to Atlanta that I didn't have time to put them on the computer! This is my 7th post in 5 days - I think it's a record. There's one more coming after this too! Anyway, starting from a few weeks ago...
our cutie pies asleep on the way home from church.
Anna asleep in the rocking chair with Tony. I thought a few weeks ago that it was the end of her napping, but that didn't last long. Her naps have just become very non-traditional (she hardly ever naps in her own bed), but I'll take them!!
Anna's favorite hiding spot. There are big hand-hold holes in the sides in case you are concerned about ventilation.
Emma likes to hang out with Junior on his bed. I don't think he likes it as much as her, but he doesn't seem to mind.
The big-brother tickle monster strikes again...
The girls like to talk to our neighbor Eddie through the fence when they hear him outside.
And finally the camping trip...Tony took Anna fishing. It was all very interesting to her.
Especially putting the worm on the hook.
She was only slightly bummed that she didn't catch a fish.
I think Emma was ready to dive in. I was holding on tight!!!
This great climbing tree was right beside the pier.
I don't know why I thought this was just soooo cute! Making the fire was fascinating!
Emma loves to play in Junior's water bowl - yuck!
The weather was perfect for camping. It was pretty cold when we got up, but they were comfortable with their coats and hats on.
Playing in the tent is so much fun!!
We made friends with the family camping next to us who had two little girls. They discovered a massive leaf cutting project being taken on by some ants. It was FASCINATING!!!!

"I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you." Sing for joy, O heavens, for the LORD has done this; shout aloud, O earth beneath. Burst into song, you mountains, you forests and all your trees, for the LORD has redeemed Jacob, he displays his glory in Israel.
"This is what the LORD says—your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the LORD, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself…”
Isaiah 44:22-24
