Hi Poop!

My little Emma is so funny! Her vocabulary is expanding, but her only sentences so far are only 2 words, mostly Hi ________ and Bye ________. Today we were eating lunch in the backyard when Anna said "Mama there's Poop!" So Emma gets up to check it out and starts waving and saying "Hi Poop", "Hi Poop". Hee hee :) She really likes to say Hi and wave. She often will go around the table and say Hi to everyone when we are eating dinner... Hi Mama, Hi Papa, Hi Woof, Hi Anton (she can almost say it), Hi (what she says for Anna is unintelligible), Hi Me. She always includes herself and even waves at herself. Here she is this morning with Anton's hat on. Anytime she sees it laying around she puts it on like this.

In other news, Anna went to her 1st ever ballet class at the YMCA on Tuesday. I forgot my camera, but she didn't have her leotard on anyway. She kept saying she didn't want to go so I told her that we would just go and watch and she didn't have to do it if she didn't want to. Of course it only took a few minutes of watching before she wanted to join the other little girls. She had lots of fun jumping and spinning around. Tonight she put on one of her leotards and showed Tony all that she did at ballet class. She said "Mama maybe I can wear this to dance class next time!" Hopefully I'll remember the camera for her second ever ballet class!

Anton is signing up for his classes next year. We're all confused about AP and Dual Credit, so hopefully I can straighten that out tomorrow with one of the teachers. During our discussion tonight, we were having a hard time explaining why college credit for Trigonometry wouldn't really be helpful if you're going to study engineering in college. I realized it might be helpful for Anton to look at a college catalog, so I looked up the one for Mechanical Engineering at UT online. I printed out the little course flowchart and we browsed through the online catalog. It was fun to see him get so excited. I have no idea what most of those classes even mean, but he was ready to go take them all tomorrow! I doesn't occur to me to even take pictures of stuff like that, but I bet he'd be willing to re-enact this event so I can get Tony to take a picture. :)

Basketball!

Anton is in the Jazz Band that plays at basketball games. It has motivated us to go to the games, which is lots of fun. I'm not much of a sports fan, but I do really enjoy watching basketball. The girls love it too! There is a family we've gotten to know over the years with a boy in Anton's grade and a girl a year older who has been in band with Anton since middle school. They also have a little boy about 2 months older than Anna and a 5 month old baby girl. You know Anna loves her babies!!!

As I watched her play with them I realized that maybe she is so much sweeter to them than her sister because they tend to do what she wants them to. :)

I was having a fabulous time until I gave the girls some cheetos. They are my favorite and the girls love them, but little people should only be allowed to eat them at a table with lots of wipes. Next time I won't forget the cheerios!

There were a couple of other families with little kids too. These "big" girls let Anna come play with them, and they were very sweet.

At home doing laudry, me saying "don't take a picture of me, I look gross!" I had just come back from the gym, but I thought it was a funny picture. Are you impressed by the quantity of laundry around me? That's just the girls clothes, and there's still 2 more baskets waiting for me... So thankful we have plenty of clothes AND a washer and dryer!!

My funny girls

A friend of mine with an older little girl gave us a bag of dress up clothes earlier this week. It included a clown suit. Anna wanted to wear it to her nap, hat and all. We also got a little ballet video. Here's Anna trying to follow along in her Cinderella dress.

Yesterday we took Junior for a walk and the girls wanted to walk their babies in the stroller too.

Emma walks around holding that bunny with her finger in her mouth most of the time. She finally figured out how to drag the stroller along while keeping her finger in her mouth.

And the new playground in full use with the playgroup over.

Life is good! And so we thank the Lord!

Region Concerts

Anton had his region band concert a few weeks ago... Emma and I were sick so Anna got to go on a big adventure with Tony to go see it.

Anton also had his first shaving experience recently. Apparently dark peach fuzz is outlawed at his school, which suites me just fine. :)Time with kids goes by so fast! Last weekend was the region orchestra concert. We were all well so we all went. It was amazing.

The girls had fun playing on the stage at the end as usual.

I think Anna was getting ready to pull her dress up here. I wonder when they develop that sense of modesty that keeps them from doing that?

The family wellness didn't last very long. Here's a very feverish Anna on Monday and a very tired Mama!Extreme close-up of Emma at dinner drinking my milk. We had green beans that night. :)
