Here's some random pictures from the last few weeks of summer...
Anna swimming!!!
Emma swimming in the floatie ring...
A few weeks ago our youth group had a concert in a local park. There was a Christian rock band that has stuff on the radio (Robie C Band - sp??) and a few teenager bands opened, including the church youth band that Anton plays in. This is what Emma looked like right after we got there.
This was after about 30 minutes, totally hot and sweaty and making a mess with a yummy hot dog!
And a hot sweaty Anna, licking the ketchup off the hot dog before she eats it.
Anton playing with the youth band. They rocked!
Anton with a few friends.
The girls were SO hot, they started asking to go home after the hot dogs. Luckily there was a painting tent to keep them occupied while we got to watch another band.
I ran into some of my small group girls. They are so fun!
We went to Fuddruckers for dinner.
Joanna and Natalie came over a lot this summer while their mom worked. They are so fun!!! Here's Anna and Natalie going for a ride together in the car.
We got Emma a new car seat that is skinnier so that whoever has to squeeze in the back seat is more comfortable (and it is now possible to fit a third car seat in Tony's backseat). The girls loved playing in the giant box it came in.
Tony has started working with Emma on pedaling. He props the training wheels up on books to turn Anna's bike into a stationary bike.
She's very excited!
I got to take Anton and all his siblings to the Aquarium the week before school started. It was lots of fun. Anna really loved the carousel.
Emma was not a fan of the carousel, which was just fine with me because it makes me dizzy.
Anna rode it 3 more times. It was very hot that day too. I'm very happy now that we've gotten a couple of "cool fronts" and its only a high of 92 with relatively low humidity.
Those are Anton's long arms sticking out on the left. His little brother Sean is right next to him.
After the lighthose drop, they rode the carousel with Anna.
Then we went on the shark train.
The train went through a tunnel under a big shark tank. It was all the kids favorite thing at the aquarium.
My girls stayed close to me!!!
I think this is called a saw fish. I had never heard of such a thing. God is so creative!
They had some carnival games, and Anton won a blow-up guitar for all the kids. I love how Sean wore a shark shirt for our day at the Aquarium!
Petting some tiger sharks and some kind of little ray.
Lunch at the cool restaurant with lots of giant fishtanks. Dining choices are this fancy restaurant or hot dogs outside. Normally I'd go the cheap route (I actually had lunches packed) but it was absolutely dreadful outside at lunchtime, so we enjoyed the air conditioner and a very yummy lunch.
We all went on the ferris wheel. Emma looked a little tentative, but I told her it was a gondola. It looked kind of like a gondola, and the safety sticker on the inside called it a gondola. Anyway, it was lots of fun!
