Driver's License!!!

I'm a little behind again... I'm making a photo album for Tony for Christmas... SOO much fun, but kind of time consuming. So anyway, here's the K-Park drumline!! They are so fun!!! I think this was the last game of the regular season. We made it to the playoffs this year!!

The singer is in my small group - I lead a group of totally awesome sophmores and juniors. I'm so proud of her, and the rest of them are totally awesome girls too. We get together every Thursday night. It is such a priviledge to be a part of their lives!!! Anna with her BFF and their little sisters at church. Aren't they so cute???!!!!

This must be from a playoff game. It was very exciting to have our school in the playoffs this year!!!

I love the rocking-out-biting-his-lower-lip look! Check out the hair salon action in the foreground! Never a dull moment! This was actually a while back when I work the concessions. The band parents do it all and proceeds go to the band booster club. I was supposed to wear a hat but forgot and this was the least goofy spare hat they had. Tony took the picture with his phone and just put it on the computer.

Anton pulling up to do his drivers test. Yes that's right, Anton got his driver's license the Thursday before Thanksgiving!!! It's official!!! He got to drive around solo a few times last weekend. Fun stuff!!!

Leslie's wedding

As I mentioned in my last post, I got to go to California for my best friend's wedding last weekend. I forgot my camera, big surprise, but lucky for me, one of Leslie's sister's put some pictures on facebook. I was so excited to have such a wonderful reason to get on an airplane ALL BY MYSELF! with bags only for me, and stay by myself for 3 nights!!! It was pretty busy, but so nice to only have to take care of myself (and the bride just a little) for a short while. I have to say I didn't really miss the kiddos much, but I was eager to talk to them every day and VERY excited to see them again on Monday. So anyway, here's the bachelorette party/shower on Friday night... me and Leslie and her loot! Here's the bridal party. I'm the tall one in case you couldn't figure that out. My hair had about 70 bobby pins in it, no kidding. It's so fun to get an updo! The girl in the foreground is Leslie's 13 year old niece. She got to wear her purple converse sneakers, the most comfortable of all of us for sure!

Halloween week!

Last week I took the girls to the pumpkin patch again, just because it's so much fun and was still around. Anna asked where it went this morning when we drove by on the way to school. It looks like putting golf tees in a pumpkin is hard, serious work. :)

She's not really interested in writting any other letters, but she LOVES to write her name. She knows her whole name is Anna Marijke Vandenberge, but she can only write Anna. Emma, by the way, seems to think her name is Emma Marijke Vandenberge. :) We're working on saying Ruth. :)My happy girls are so proud of their pumpkin faces!

This was the test run of the cat outfit and makeup for Halloween

Anna got to wear her costume to school for a parade and trick-or-treating. Emma's class didn't participate - only the "pre-school" classes - but her teachers didn't seem to mind that she wanted to dress up too.

I am one of Anna's homeroom teachers, so I got to do their Halloween party. It was crazy but lots of fun. I have a new appreciation for the teachers!!

I went to California last Friday for my best friends wedding and got back Monday. I post a blog for that when I can scam some other people's pictures from facebook who actually brought their cameras for this awesome event!!! Here are some random backyard shots while I was in gone.

Anton's mom bought him a marching snare from an old drum teacher. It's very loud, but I'm excited for him to have it since he wants to march in college, and he'll have to learn a different grip between now and then. I'm also excited that it went to live at his mom's house. :DCopycat!Tony had to get the girls ready for Halloween and take them. The ladybug hat requires several bobby pins - I thought he did pretty good! He said they didn't want their faces painted again. :( I thought their expressions in these 3 pictures were funny.

Anton and Junior came for a little while too. I love Anna's movie star look here. :)

This was cute - there is a really creepy scary guy behind Anton (I cropped him out for the benefit of any of our young friends who like to look at the blog!). Anton saw him before the girls and managed to keep them from seeing him. Yay big brother Anton!!Anton got new glasses yesterday - aren't they stylin'??
